Carl Smith
Lead Pole Fabricator
I’m Carl Smith and I’m Lead Pole Fabricator here at Calders and Grandidge. In my position I’m responsible for numerous roles for both our teams and our customers. Lead Fabricator gives me the opportunity to interpret some of the more complex challenges posed by our large customers who may be using poles up to 24 metres in length.
The position also allows me to guarantee quality control is at the fore of everything we do here in the pole section and I enjoy working with customers to ensure we deliver the best service in the industry.
In terms of the team, safety is paramount and I ensure all operatives working on poles do so to the latest Health and Safety regulations and I also assist in training the team and supporting them to progress within the company.
Lead Fabricator gives me the opportunity to interpret some of the more complex challenges posed by our large customers who may be using poles up to 24 meters in length.
