We are committed to improving environmental performance, preventing pollution and increasing the positive impact of our activities. We strive to meet, and where possible, exceed applicable environmental legislation.
Calders & Grandidge is committed to meeting some of the most fundamental challenges faced by the world today. These are:
- Reducing energy consumption
- Limiting our impact on the environment
Addressing climate change, reducing industrial carbon emissions, protecting natural resources and conserving ecosystems are all issues that Calders & Grandidge, as a responsible corporate citizen, has integrated into its manufacturing and distribution processes, and the need to reduce the environmental impact
Calders & Grandidge has signed up to the Strategy for Sustainable Construction 2008, a joint industry and government initiative that sets out specific commitments and targets to drive the sustainable construction agenda forward.
We have committed to work towards a zero waste to landfill target, and through initiatives currently in place we are well on our way to achieving this.
One such initiative is that all waste timber is collected and used as fuel to power our creosote plant. Meaning not only that less waste is sent to landfill, but also that our plant is largely self sufficient for fuel.
