World First As Certified Karri Railway Sleepers Arrive In Britain 2000

The UK's privatised rail network, has received its first shipment of karri railway sleepers from plantations in South Africa.

In another first, the sleepers have been certified by the world's premier independent timber certification body, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), as coming from a sustainably managed source.
